Tuna Peera Pattichathu / Canned Tuna Peera

Ingredients:

2 small can tuna

1 tbsp ginger, chopped

1 small onion ( or 6-7 shallots ) , chopped

5-6 green chillies, chopped

2 sprig curry leaves

1/2 tsp turmeric powder

1/4 tsp chilli powder

1-1 1/2 cup grated coconut

1-2 kudampuli / gambooje

salt to taste

1 tbsp + 1 tsp coconut oil

Preparation:

  1. Wash and soak kudampuli in little water for 15 minutes.
  2. Open the tuna cans and drain the water and keep it aside.
  3. Heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan/ clay pot and splutter mustard seeds.
  4. Add chopped ginger, onion, green chillies and curry leaves and saute well.
  5. Add turmeric powder and chilli powder and mix well.
  6. Add grated coconut, kudampuli pieces, tuna and salt and mix well with spatula.
  7. Sprinkle little water and cook covered at low flame till done and all the water dries up, stirring in between.
  8. Add 1 tsp coconut oil and few curry leaves and mix well. Remove from the flame and serve with rice...
