Unakka Nangu / Dry Sole Fish Chammanthi

Ingredients:
2 big dry sole fish / unakka nangu / unakka manthal
8 dry red chillies
4 shallots
1/2 inch piece ginger
3/4 cup grated coconut
small gooseberry sized tamarind
1 sprig curry leaves
salt to taste
3 tbsp coconut oil
Preparation:
- Heat coconut oil in a pan and add cleaned dry fish and fry till crispy. Keep it aside.
- To the remaining oil add dry red chillies, shallots and ginger and roast well. Remove it from oil.
- In a blender, add grated coconut, curry leaves, tamarind, fried red chillies, shallots, ginger and dry fish and crush well.
- Transfer this to remaining oil in the pan and add little salt and roast well at low flame for 5-6 minutes. Switch off the flame and serve with rice...
