Ingredients:
1 1/2 cup wheat flour
1/4 cup aval / rice flakes
1/2 cup grated coconut
1/4 tsp yeast
1 tbsp sugar
1 3/4 -2 cups of water
salt to taste
Preparation:
- In a blender, add aval, grated coconut, yeast, sugar and blend well adding 1/4 cup of water.
- Then add wheat flour, salt and 1 1/2 cup of water to this and blend well again.
- Transfer to a bowl and keep it covered for 2 hours.
- Heat a pan/ tawa on medium flame and pour a ladleful of batter into the hot tawa.
- When bubbles/ holes start appearing at the surface, cook it covered at medium - low flame.
- Remove the ottada from the pan and transfer it to a plate. Repeat the same with the remaining batter.. Serve with any curry of your choice…
