2 1/2 cup matta rice / parboiled rice
1/2 kg squid / koonthal, cleaned and cut into pieces
3 green chillies, finely chopped
5-6 shallots, sliced
1 tbsp fenugreek seeds
2 sprig curry leaves
1/2 cup grated coconut
salt to taste
1 litre water
- In a large pressure cooker. add matta rice, cleaned squid, chopped green chillies, fenugreek seeds, curry leaves, sliced shallots, grated coconut, salt and water and mix well.
- Cook on medium-high flame for 1 whistle and then lower the flame and cook for another 5-7 minutes at low flame.
- Switch off the flame and when pressure releases, open the cooker and mix well to combine. Serve with pickle, pappadum and dal curry…
