Avocado Chutney

Ingredients:

1 ripe avocado

1/2 - 3/4 cup grated coconut

1 inch piece ginger, chopped

2 green chillies

small piece of tamarind

1 tbsp roasted gram / pottukadala

salt to taste

1/2 tsp mustard seeds

1 sprig curry leaves

2 dry red chillies

1 tbsp coconut oil

Preparation:

  1. Cut the avocado in half. Remove the pit and scoop out the flesh with a spoon.
  2. In a blender, add avocado, grated coconut, ginger, green chillies, roasted gram , tamarind, salt and grind to a smooth paste adding 4-5 tbsp of water.
  3. Heat oil in a pan and splutter mustard seeds and add dry red chillies and curry leaves.
  4. Pour this tempering over chutney and mix well. Adjust the salt and serve with idli / dosa...
