Chicken Eenth Pidi / Cycas Nut Powder Dumplings in Chicken Gravy

Ingredients:
For Eenth Pidi ( dumplings with cycas nut powder)
1 cup eenth podi (flour) / cycas nut powder
1 cup boiling water
salt to taste
For Chicken Gravy
1/2 kg chicken, cleaned
1 cup grated coconut
2 shallots
1 tsp fennel seeds
2 sprig curry leaves
2 tsp chilli powder (adjust to your taste)
2 tsp coriander powder
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp garam masala
1 onion, finely chopped
1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
2 green chillies, chopped
1 tomato, chopped
salt to taste
2 tbsp coriander leaves, chopped
2 tbsp oil
Preparation:
- Boil 1 cup of water with little salt in a pan.
- In a bowl, add the eenth flour and pour the boiling water and mix well using a wooden spoon.
- When the dough is still warm, knead it well to a soft and smooth dough.
- Make small balls out of the dough and slightly flatten it and steam cook in a steamer for 10-12 minutes..Keep it aside..

Chicken Gravy Preparation:
- In a pan , dry roast grated coconut with shallots, fennel seeds and 1 sprig curry leaves till light brown colour.
- Add chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder and garam masala and saute until the raw smell goes.
- Remove from the flame and let it cool and then grind it to a smooth paste adding enough water and keep it aside.
- Heat oil in a pan and add chopped onion and little salt and saute well till soft.
- Add ginger-garlic paste, chopped green chillies and 1 sprig curry leaves and saute well.
- Add chopped tomato and saute well until tomato turns soft.
- Now add cleaned chicken pieces and salt into this and saute well for 4-5 minutes.
- Add the ground coconut paste and mix everything together.
- Add little water to adjust the consistency and cook covered till the chicken is cooked.
- Then add the prepared dumplings, mix well and cook on medium - low flame for 5-7 minutes or until the gravy is thick and well coated with the dumplings....
- Garnish with chopped coriander leaves....Serve as a main dish...
