Ingredients:


2 ripe plantains / kerala bananas ( nendrapazham)

1 cup plain flour

2 tbsp cornflour

1 tbsp sugar

1/2 tsp cardamom powder

1/4 tsp salt

1 cup water

2 pinch baking soda

1 cup bread crumbs, or as required

oil, for frying


Preparation:


  1. Peel the bananas and cut them in half and then slice lengthwise and keep it aside.
  2. In a bowl, add plain flour, cornflour, sugar, cardamom powder and salt and mix well.
  3. Add water little by little and mix well using a whisk to a smooth batter.
  4. Add 2 pinch of baking soda and mix well.
  5. Dip the banana pieces in this batter and coat well with bread crumbs.
  6. Heat oil in a pan and fry them on both sides until crispy and golden brown.
  7. Remove from the oil and drain them on a paper towel....Serve hot..
