Ingredients:


2 cup kara boondi ( I used store bought )

3/4 cup grated coconut

1/4 tsp turmeric powder

1/2 tsp cumin seeds

2 green chillies

1 small garlic clove

1 medium onion, chopped

1/2 tsp chilli powder (optional)

1 tsp mustard seeds

2 dry red chillies

1 sprig curry leaves

salt to taste

1 1/2 tbsp coconut oil


Preparation:


  1. Grind together grated coconut, green chillies, garlic clove, cumin seeds and turmeric powder to a coarse mixture and keep it aside.
  2. Heat coconut oil in a pan and splutter mustard seeds.
  3. Add dry red chillies, curry leaves and chopped onion and saute for 3 minutes.
  4. Add coconut mixture and little salt and saute well till the raw smell goes.
  5. Then add boondi into this and mix well. Add chilli powder, if required and mix well.
  6. Add 3-4 tbsp of water and stir well and cook for few minutes till dry.
  7. Adjust the salt and remove from the flame and serve with rice...
