Ingredients:
2 cup kara boondi ( I used store bought )
3/4 cup grated coconut
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
2 green chillies
1 small garlic clove
1 medium onion, chopped
1/2 tsp chilli powder (optional)
1 tsp mustard seeds
2 dry red chillies
1 sprig curry leaves
salt to taste
1 1/2 tbsp coconut oil
Preparation:
- Grind together grated coconut, green chillies, garlic clove, cumin seeds and turmeric powder to a coarse mixture and keep it aside.
- Heat coconut oil in a pan and splutter mustard seeds.
- Add dry red chillies, curry leaves and chopped onion and saute for 3 minutes.
- Add coconut mixture and little salt and saute well till the raw smell goes.
- Then add boondi into this and mix well. Add chilli powder, if required and mix well.
- Add 3-4 tbsp of water and stir well and cook for few minutes till dry.
- Adjust the salt and remove from the flame and serve with rice...
