Ingredients:
1 1/2 cup idli batter ( 15-20 mini idli's)
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 green chillies, finely chopped
1 tsp ginger, finely chopped
1 sprig curry leaves
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1/4 tsp asafoetida
1 tsp urad dal
1/2 tsp mustard seeds
2 dry red chillies
salt to taste
1-2 tbsp coriander leaves, chopped
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tbsp ghee
1 tbsp oil
Preparation:
- First prepare mini / button idli's..Grease the mini idli moulds with little oil and spoon / pour the batter in each hole.
- Then steam cook it for 7-8 minutes .Switch off the flame and remove the moulds and keep it aside to cool.
- Then carefully remove the idli's from the moulds using a spoon and keep it aside.
- Heat oil in a pan and splutter mustard seeds.
- Add urad dal, dry red chillies, curry leaves, green chillies and ginger and saute well.
- Add chopped onion and little salt and saute well till transparent.
- Add turmeric powder and asafoetida into this and mix well.
- Add mini idli's and chopped coriander leaves and mix well for 2-3 minutes.
- Add lemon juice and ghee and mix well for a minute on low flame. Remove from the flame and serve hot…
- You can also use normal leftover idli's cut into small pieces for preparing this recipe..
