Mutton Perattu

Ingredients:


1/2 kg mutton, cut into pieces

1/2 tbsp + 1/2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste

1/2 tsp + 1/2 tsp pepper powder

2 onions, sliced

200 gm shallots, sliced

2 green chillies, slit

1/4 tsp turmeric powder

1 1/2 tsp coriander powder

1 tsp chilli powder

1 tomato, chopped

1/2 tsp garam masala

salt to taste

2 sprig curry leaves

2 tbsp coconut oil


Preparation:


  1. In a pressure cooker, add cleaned mutton, 1/2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste, 1/2 tsp pepper powder, salt and 1/4 cup of water and mix well and pressure cook till done.
  2. Heat coconut oil in a pan and add curry leaves and sliced onions and saute well adding salt.
  3. Add sliced shallots and saute well.
  4. Add 1/2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste and green chillies and saute well till raw smell goes.
  5. Add turmeric powder, coriander powder and chilli powder and mix well.
  6. Add chopped tomato and saute well and then cook covered till soft.
  7. Then add cooked mutton along with its gravy and mix well and cook covered at low flame for 10 minutes.
  8. Add 1/2 tsp pepper powder and garam masala and mix well.
  9. Adjust the salt and add curry leaves and mix well and cook till the gravy thickens.
  10. Switch off the flame and keep it covered for 10 minutes and then serve...
