Mutton Perattu

Ingredients:
1/2 kg mutton, cut into pieces
1/2 tbsp + 1/2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
1/2 tsp + 1/2 tsp pepper powder
2 onions, sliced
200 gm shallots, sliced
2 green chillies, slit
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1 1/2 tsp coriander powder
1 tsp chilli powder
1 tomato, chopped
1/2 tsp garam masala
salt to taste
2 sprig curry leaves
2 tbsp coconut oil
Preparation:
- In a pressure cooker, add cleaned mutton, 1/2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste, 1/2 tsp pepper powder, salt and 1/4 cup of water and mix well and pressure cook till done.
- Heat coconut oil in a pan and add curry leaves and sliced onions and saute well adding salt.
- Add sliced shallots and saute well.
- Add 1/2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste and green chillies and saute well till raw smell goes.
- Add turmeric powder, coriander powder and chilli powder and mix well.
- Add chopped tomato and saute well and then cook covered till soft.
- Then add cooked mutton along with its gravy and mix well and cook covered at low flame for 10 minutes.
- Add 1/2 tsp pepper powder and garam masala and mix well.
- Adjust the salt and add curry leaves and mix well and cook till the gravy thickens.
- Switch off the flame and keep it covered for 10 minutes and then serve...
