Ingredients:


1/2 kg crabs

2 drumsticks / muringakka, cut into pieces

1 big tomato, chopped

3 green chillies, slit

1/4 tsp + 1/4 tsp turmeric powder

1 cup grated coconut

1/2 tsp fennel seeds

3 + 2 shallots

2 tsp + 1/4 tsp kashmiri chilli powder

1 tsp coriander powder

salt to taste

2 sprig curry leaves

1 tbsp coconut oil


Preparation:


  1. Clean and cut the crabs into pieces and keep it aside.
  2. Grind together grated coconut, fennel seeds, 3 shallots, 2 tsp kashmiri chilli powder, coriander powder, 1/4 tsp turmeric powder adding 1 cup of water to a smooth paste and keep it aside.
  3. In a clay pot / pan, add cleaned crabs, drumsticks, chopped tomato, green chillies, 1/4 tsp turmeric powder, few curry leaves, salt and enough water and cook covered till done.
  4. Add the coconut paste and enough water and mix well.
  5. Adjust the salt and cook for 5 minutes at medium flame.
  6. Heat coconut oil in a pan and add 2 sliced shallots and fry till light brown.
  7. Add curry leaves leaves, 1/4 tsp kashmiri chilli powder and mix well for 10 seconds and add to the curry. Mix well and serve hot….
