Ingredients:
1/2 kg crabs
2 drumsticks / muringakka, cut into pieces
1 big tomato, chopped
3 green chillies, slit
1/4 tsp + 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1 cup grated coconut
1/2 tsp fennel seeds
3 + 2 shallots
2 tsp + 1/4 tsp kashmiri chilli powder
1 tsp coriander powder
salt to taste
2 sprig curry leaves
1 tbsp coconut oil
Preparation:
- Clean and cut the crabs into pieces and keep it aside.
- Grind together grated coconut, fennel seeds, 3 shallots, 2 tsp kashmiri chilli powder, coriander powder, 1/4 tsp turmeric powder adding 1 cup of water to a smooth paste and keep it aside.
- In a clay pot / pan, add cleaned crabs, drumsticks, chopped tomato, green chillies, 1/4 tsp turmeric powder, few curry leaves, salt and enough water and cook covered till done.
- Add the coconut paste and enough water and mix well.
- Adjust the salt and cook for 5 minutes at medium flame.
- Heat coconut oil in a pan and add 2 sliced shallots and fry till light brown.
- Add curry leaves leaves, 1/4 tsp kashmiri chilli powder and mix well for 10 seconds and add to the curry. Mix well and serve hot….
