Ingredients:


1/2 kg sweet potato

1 tsp garlic, chopped

2 green chillies, chopped

1 sprig curry leaves, chopped

2 tsp chilli powder

1/2 tsp turmeric powder

1/4 tsp garam masala

1/4 tsp cumin seeds

1/2 cup gram flour

2 tbsp plain flour

2 pinch asafoetida

salt to taste

oil, for frying


Preparation:


  1. Peel and cut sweet potatoes into lengthwise pieces / strips. Wash and drain them and keep it aside.
  2. In a mixing bowl, add sweet potato pieces, chopped garlic, green chillies, curry leaves, chilli powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, cumin seeds, gram flour, plain flour, salt and asafoetida and mix well.
  3. Then sprinkle little water and mix till the sweet potato pieces are well coated.
  4. Heat oil in a pan on medium flame. Take a handful of sweet potato strips together and slide it gently into the oil.
  5. Deep fry on medium heat till it turns golden brown and crispy. Remove it from the oil and drain them on a paper towel....Serve hot with tea :)
