Ingredients:
1/2 kg sweet potato
1 tsp garlic, chopped
2 green chillies, chopped
1 sprig curry leaves, chopped
2 tsp chilli powder
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1/4 tsp garam masala
1/4 tsp cumin seeds
1/2 cup gram flour
2 tbsp plain flour
2 pinch asafoetida
salt to taste
oil, for frying
Preparation:
- Peel and cut sweet potatoes into lengthwise pieces / strips. Wash and drain them and keep it aside.
- In a mixing bowl, add sweet potato pieces, chopped garlic, green chillies, curry leaves, chilli powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, cumin seeds, gram flour, plain flour, salt and asafoetida and mix well.
- Then sprinkle little water and mix till the sweet potato pieces are well coated.
- Heat oil in a pan on medium flame. Take a handful of sweet potato strips together and slide it gently into the oil.
- Deep fry on medium heat till it turns golden brown and crispy. Remove it from the oil and drain them on a paper towel....Serve hot with tea :)
