Tomato Rava Ottada

Ingredients:
1 1/2 cup rava / semolina
1/4 cup wheat flour
2 tomatoes, chopped
small piece ginger
1 tbsp sugar
1 tsp yeast
1 1/2 tsp crushed chilli
1/4 tsp asafoetida
1 tsp cumin powder
1/3 cup yogurt
2 cups warm water
salt to taste
Preparation:
- In a blender, add rava, wheat flour, tomato, ginger, yeast, sugar, crushed chilli, asafoetida, cumin powder , yogurt and warm water and blend well until smooth.
- Transfer to a bowl , mix well and keep it covered for 1 hour.
- Then add salt and mix well.
- Heat a pan/ tawa on medium flame and pour a ladleful of batter into the hot tawa.
- When bubbles/ holes start appearing at the surface, cook it covered at medium - low flame.
- Remove the ottada from the pan and transfer it to a plate. Repeat the same with the remaining batter.. Serve with chutney or any curry of your choice…
