Beef Pacha Vechathu

Ingredients:
1/2 kg beef
1 big onion, sliced
1 small piece ginger
4 big garlic cloves
4-5 green chillies
1 small tomato, chopped
1/2 tsp + 1/2 tsp pepper powder
3/4 cup grated coconut
salt to taste
1 inch piece cinnamon
3 cardamoms
2 cloves
1/2 tsp fennel seeds
1/2 tsp pepper corns
2 tbsp coriander leaves, chopped
2 tbsp oil
Preparation:
- Crush together green chillies, ginger and garlic and keep it aside.
- Heat oil in a pressure cooker and add cinnamon, cardamoms, cloves, fennel seeds and pepper corns and saute.
- Add sliced onion and saute well.
- Add crushed ingredients and saute well till the raw smell goes.
- Add chopped tomato and saute well till soft.
- Add cleaned beef, 1/2 tsp pepper powder and salt and mix well.
- Add 1/4 cup of hot water and cook for 1 whistle and then cook on low flame till done.
- Grind grated coconut adding 1/2 cup of water to a smooth paste.
- Add this ground paste to the cooked beef and mix well.
- Add 1/2 tsp pepper powder and chopped coriander leaves and mix well and boil well.
- Remove from the flame and serve hot with ghee rice, pathiri , chapati etc...
