Ingredients:


1/2 kg beef

1 big onion, sliced

1 small piece ginger

4 big garlic cloves

4-5 green chillies

1 small tomato, chopped

1/2 tsp + 1/2 tsp pepper powder

3/4 cup grated coconut

salt to taste

1 inch piece cinnamon

3 cardamoms

2 cloves

1/2 tsp fennel seeds

1/2 tsp pepper corns

2 tbsp coriander leaves, chopped

2 tbsp oil


Preparation:


  1. Crush together green chillies, ginger and garlic and keep it aside.
  2. Heat oil in a pressure cooker and add cinnamon, cardamoms, cloves, fennel seeds and pepper corns and saute.
  3. Add sliced onion and saute well.
  4. Add crushed ingredients and saute well till the raw smell goes.
  5. Add chopped tomato and saute well till soft.
  6. Add cleaned beef, 1/2 tsp pepper powder and salt and mix well.
  7. Add 1/4 cup of hot water and cook for 1 whistle and then cook on low flame till done.
  8. Grind grated coconut adding 1/2 cup of water to a smooth paste.
  9. Add this ground paste to the cooked beef and mix well.
  10. Add 1/2 tsp pepper powder and chopped coriander leaves and mix well and boil well.
  11. Remove from the flame and serve hot with ghee rice, pathiri , chapati etc...
