Ingredients:


1/2 kg beef, cut into pieces

1 onion, chopped

1 tomato, chopped

3 green chillies, slit

1 tbsp crushed ginger-garlic

2 sprig curry leaves

1/2 tsp turmeric powder

1 1/2 tbsp chilli powder

2 tbsp coriander powder

1/2 tsp fenugreek seeds

salt to taste

1/2 cup grated coconut

3+3 shallots, sliced

1 1/2 tbsp coconut oil

1 tbsp coriander leaves, chopped


Preparation:


  1. In a pressure cooker, add cleaned beef, chopped onion, tomato, green chillies, crushed ginger-garlic, 1 sprig curry leaves, turmeric powder, chilli powder, coriander powder, fenugreek seeds and salt and mix well with hand.
  2. Then add 1/2 cup of water, mix well and pressure cook at high flame for 1 whistle and then lower the flame and cook for 5-6 whistles or till done.
  3. In the meantime, grind together grated coconut and 3 shallots adding little water.
  4. Once the pressure releases, open the cooker and add ground coconut paste and mix well and allow to boil. Switch off the flame.
  5. Heat 1 tbsp coconut oil in a pan and add 3 sliced shallots and 1 sprig curry leaves and fry till brown.
  6. Pour this over the curry and add chopped coriander leaves and mix well. Serve hot with ghee rice, pathiri, porotta etc...
