Fried Chicken Masala Macaroni


1 1/2 cup macaroni
150 gm chicken, cut into small pieces
2 medium onions, finely chopped
2 tbsp ginger-garlic-green chilli paste
1 tomato, chopped
1 tsp chilli powder
1/4 tsp + 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp + 1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp cornflour
1/2 tsp pepper powder
1 1/2 tsp garam masala / biriyani masala
1/4 tsp fennel powder
2 tbsp yogurt
1 tbsp tomato sauce
1 tbsp soy sauce
3 tbsp coriander leaves, chopped
2 tbsp mint leaves, chopped
1 tbsp ghee
salt to taste
oil, as required


  1. Boil water in a deep pan, add macaroni, 1 tbsp of oil and salt and cook for 8-10 minutes or according to the package instructions. Drain the pasta and keep it aside.
  2. Marinate chicken pieces with 1 tsp chilli powder, 1/4 tsp turmeric powder, salt, 1 tsp lemon juice and 1 tsp cornflour and keep it aside for 10 minutes.
  3. Heat oil in a pan and fry the marinated chicken pieces and keep it aside.
  4. Heat 2 tbsp of fried oil in a pan and add finely chopped onions and salt and saute well.
  5. Add ginger-garlic-green chilli paste and saute well till raw smell goes.
  6. Add chopped tomato and saute well till soft and mushy.
  7. Add turmeric powder, pepper powder, garam masala and fennel powder and mix well.
  8. Add 1 tbsp lemon juice and yogurt and mix well.
  9. Add tomato sauce and soy sauce and mix well.
  10. Add chopped coriander leaves and mint leaves and mix well.
  11. Add ghee and mix well. Add 1/2 cup of water and mix well.
  12. When it boils, add fried chicken and mix well.
  13. Add cooked macaroni and mix till well combined and cook for another 2-3 minutes on low flame.
  14. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves, mix and serve warm…
