Choru Vada / Leftover Cooked Rice Vada

Ingredients:

2 cups choru / cooked rice
1 onion, finely chopped
2 green chillies, finely chopped
1 piece ginger, finely chopped
few curry leaves, chopped
1/2 tsp kashmiri chilli powder
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1 tbsp rice flour
salt to taste
oil, for frying

Preparation:

  1. In a blender, add cooked rice and grind to a smooth paste. ( Add 1-2 tsp water if required).
  2. Transfer it to a bowl and add chopped onion, green chillies, ginger, curry leaves, kashmiri chilli powder, turmeric powder, salt and rice flour and mix well. Keep it aside for 30 minutes.
  3. Heat oil in a pan in medium flame.
  4. Wet your palms with water, take little batter and make a ball. Place it on the palm, flatten it and make a hole in the centre.
  5. Drop this slowly in the hot oil and fry till golden brown. Remove it from the oil and serve with tea or coffee…
