Spicy Chilli Beef


1/2 kg beef
3/4 tsp + 1/4 tsp pepper powder
3 green chillies, finely chopped
1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
1 tbsp cornflour
1 tbsp plain flour
1 tsp ginger, finely chopped
2 tbsp garlic, finely chopped
1 tbsp capsicum, finely chopped
2 tbsp celery, finely chopped
1 tbsp + 1 tbsp soy sauce
1/2 tsp sugar
1/2 of 1 small onion, finely chopped
5-6 green chillies, chopped
2 red chillies, chopped
1 tbsp chilli sauce
2 tbsp tomato sauce
1 tbsp soy sauce
1/4 tsp vinegar
1/2 onion, cut into cubes
1/2 capsicum, cut into cubes
salt to taste
2 tbsp spring onions, chopped
oil, as required


  1. Wash and cut beef into thin strips.
  2. In a pressure cooker, add cleaned beef, 3/4 tsp pepper powder, 1/2 tsp salt and 1/4 cup of water , mix well and cook at medium flame for 4 whistles till cooked. Keep it aside.
  3. In a mixing bowl, add chopped 3 green chillies, ginger-garlic paste, cornflour, plain flour, 1/4 tsp pepper powder and little salt and mix well.
  4. Add 1 tbsp soy sauce and little cooked beef stock and mix well.
  5. Add cooked beef into this and mix well. Keep it aside for 20 minutes.
  6. Heat oil in a pan and fry the marinated beef pieces for 4-5 minutes and keep it aside.
  7. Heat 2 tbsp fried oil in a thick bottomed pan and add finely chopped ginger, garlic, capsicum and celery and saute.
  8. Add sugar, chopped onion and little salt and saute well.
  9. Add chopped green chillies and red chillies and saute well.
  10. Reduce the flame and add chilli sauce and mix well.
  11. Add tomato sauce, 1 tbsp soy sauce and vinegar and mix well.
  12. Add 1/2 cup of hot water and mix well. Adjust salt and spice level.
  13. Add cubed onion and capsicum and saute.
  14. Add fried beef into this and mix well for 2-3 minutes.
  15. Then add 2 tsp cornflour mixed with little water and mix well.
  16. Garnish with chopped spring onions and remove from flame…Serve hot…
