Ingredients:
1 cup broccoli, chopped
2 green chillies
small piece ginger, chopped
1 1/2 tsp urad dal
1 1/2 tsp chana dal
3 tbsp grated coconut
small piece of tamarind
salt to taste
1/4 tsp mustard seeds
few curry leaves
2 tsp oil
Preparation:
- Heat 1/2 tsp oil in a pan and roast chana dal and urad dal and keep it aside.
- In another pan, heat 1 tsp of oil and saute the chopped broccoli adding little salt till its cooked. Switch off the flame and allow to cool.
- In a blender, add the grated coconut, ginger, green chillies, roasted chana dal, urad dal, tamarind, salt and broccoli and grind to a smooth paste adding 1/2 cup of water.
- Heat oil in a pan and splutter mustard seeds and add curry leaves.
- Pour this tempering over chutney and mix well.
- If the chutney is too thick, add some water and mix well. Check the salt and add if required..Serve with idli/ dosa..
