Kondattam Mulaku ( Dried Curd Chilli ) Chammanthi

Ingredients:

6 kondattam mulaku / dried salted curd chilli (thairu mulaku)
10-12 shallots
3/4 cup grated coconut
gooseberry sized tamarind
1 sprig curry leaves

Preparation:

  1. Heat 2 tbsp oil in a pan and fry the curd chillies and keep it aside.
  2. Saute the shallots in the same oil and add curry leaves. Remove from the flame and allow it to cool.
  3. Then transfer into a blender and add grated coconut, tamarind and fried curd chillies and grind well without adding water.
