Tempered Yogurt with Cherry Tomatoes / Cherry Tomatoes Moru Curry


200 gm cherry tomatoes
1 onion, finely chopped
1 tsp ginger, crushed
1 tsp garlic, crushed
3 green chillies, slit
1 sprig curry leaves
1 tsp turmeric powder
400 ml yogurt
1/4 tsp asafoetida
salt to taste
1 tsp mustard seeds
2 tbsp oil


  1. Heat oil in a pan and splutter mustard seeds.
  2. Add finely chopped onion, crushed ginger, garlic, green chillies, curry leaves and salt and saute well.
  3. Add turmeric powder and mix well till raw smell goes.
  4. Add 1 cup of water, cherry tomatoes and asafoetida, mix well and boil till the tomatoes are half cooked. Don’t overcook the tomatoes..
  5. Add beaten yogurt and mix well and heat for 2-3 minutes. Don’t allow to boil.
  6. Switch off the flame and serve with rice….
