Nawabi Semai

Ingredients:

2 tbsp ghee
200 gm thin vermicelli / semiya , crushed
1/2 cup sugar, powdered
3 tbsp + 3tbsp milk powder
500 ml milk
3 tbsp sugar
1/4 cup condensed milk
3 tbsp cornflour
pistachios, chopped

Preparation:

  1. Heat ghee / butter in a pan and add semiya and roast well till golden brown.
  2. Then add 3 tbsp milk powder and 1/2 cup powdered sugar and mix well. Keep it aside.
  3. In a thick bottomed pan, add milk, 3 tbsp milk powder, 3 tbsp sugar and condensed milk and mix well.
  4. Add cornflour into this and stir continuously until thick. Remove from the flame.
  5. In serving glasses or dish, add a layer of semiya and then add the layer of milk mixture and repeat the layers.
  6. Garnish with chopped pistachios and serve chilled…
