Muskmelon / Shamam Custard Drink


2 1/2 cup muskmelon / shamam, peeled and chopped into pieces
1 tbsp basil seeds
2 tbsp custard powder
500 ml milk
1/2 tin condensed milk
1/2 cup sugar
chopped nuts
few ice cubes


  1. In a blender, add chopped shamam and blend well to a puree and keep it aside.
  2. Soak basil seeds in 1 cup of water for 10-15 minutes.
  3. In a small bowl, add custard powder and 1/4 cup of water and mix well without any lumps and keep it aside.
  4. Heat milk, condensed milk and sugar in a pan at medium flame.
  5. When it reaches boiling point, add custard mixture and mix well.
  6. Then add shamam puree into this and mix well and cook in low flame for 3-4 minutes.
  7. Switch off the flame and keep it aside to cool. Then chill in the fridge and add ice cubes, basil seeds and chopped nuts and serve ..
