Ingredients:
1 medium cauliflower, cut into florets
1/4 cup plain flour
1/4 cup rice flour
1/4 cup cornflour
salt to taste
1 tsp pepper powder
1/2 cup bread crumbs
1 tsp ginger, finely chopped
1 tsp garlic, finely chopped
1 green chilli, chopped
1 tsp soy sauce
1/4 cup korean chilli sauce ( I used Heinz Korean style sauce )
2 tsp tomato sauce
oil, as required
sesame seeds, to garnish
2 tbsp spring onions, chopped
Preparation:
- Boil water in a pan adding little salt and switch off the flame. Add the cauliflower florets into this hot water and keep for 5 minutes and then drain the water and allow it to cool down.
- In a bowl, add rice flour, plain flour, cornflour, salt and pepper powder and mix well. Add 1/4 cup of water and mix well to a thick batter.
- Dip each floret into the batter and then coat with bread crumbs.
- Heat oil in a pan and deep fry the marinated cauliflower in 2-3 batches in hot oil over medium flame until golden brown and crispy. Remove them from the oil and drain onto paper towel.
- Heat 1 tsp oil in a pan and add chopped ginger, garlic, green chilli, soy sauce, korean chilli sauce and tomato sauce, mix well and cook at medium flame, stirring until the mixture thickens.
- Then toss the fried cauliflower in the sauce until evenly coated.
- Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped spring onions.. Serve hot…
