Ingredients:
7-8 leftover idli
3 tsp plain flour
2 + 2 tsp cornflour
1 big onion, chopped
2 tsp garlic, finely chopped
1 tsp ginger, finely chopped
3-4 green chillies, chopped
1 capsicum, cubed ( I used green and red capsicums)
1 tsp chilli powder
2 tsp chilli sauce
3-4 tsp tomato sauce
1 tsp soy sauce
1/2 tsp pepper powder
1/2 tsp sugar
salt to taste
oil, as required
2 tbsp chopped spring onions
Preparation:
- Cut each idli into equal sized cubes.
- In a bowl, prepare a batter of 2 tsp corn flour, plain flour and salt adding required water.
- Dip the idli pieces in this batter and fry them in the hot oil on medium flame till golden colour. Remove from the pan and keep it aside.
- Heat 1 1/2 tbsp oil in a pan and add chopped ginger, ginger and green chillies and saute for a minute.
- Add chopped onion and saute till light golden brown. Add cubed capsicum and saute for 2 minutes.
- Add chilli powder and mix well for a minute. Then add chilli sauce, tomato sauce, soy sauce, pepper powder and sugar and mix well. Adjust the salt.
- Mix 2 tsp cornflour with little water and add this and mix well.
- Add fried idlis and mix well for 2-3 minutes till sauce is well coated with idlis.
- Remove from the flame and garnish with chopped spring onions and serve…
