Crispy Honey Chilli Beef Fry

Ingredients:

1/2 kg beef, cut into strips
2 1/2 tsp + 1 1/2 tsp chilli powder
1 tsp + 1/2-1 tsp pepper powder
1 tsp + 1/2 tsp ginger-garlic paste
1 1/2 tsp + 1 1/2-2 tbsp soy sauce
2 1/2 tbsp plain flour
2 tbsp cornflour
salt to taste
1 egg
2 green chillies, slit
2 tsp red chilli sauce
1/4-1/2 cup beef stock
lemon juice of 1/2 lemon
1 tbsp honey
1 tbsp white sesame seeds
1/2 tsp red chilli flakes
2 tbsp coriander leaves, chopped
oil, as required

Preparation:

  1. In a bowl, add cleaned beef strips, 2 1/2 tsp chilli powder, 1 tsp pepper powder, 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste, 1 1/2-2 tsp soy sauce and salt and marinate well and let it rest for 15 minutes.
  2. Then transfer to a cooker and cook until the beef is cooked on medium flame. Switch off the flame. (Reserve the stock for making sauce).
  3. In a bowl, add plain flour, cornflour, 1 1/2 tsp chilli powder and salt and mix well.
  4. In another bowl, beat an egg and keep it aside.
  5. Then coat each cooked beef strip first with the flour mixture and then dip in the beaten egg and again coat it with the flour mixture.
  6. Heat oil in a pan and fry them at medium flame in batches until golden and crispy.
  7. Heat 1 1/2 tbsp oil in a pan and add slit green chillies and 1/2 tsp ginger-garlic paste and saute well.
  8. Add 1 1/2-2 tbsp soy sauce and red chilli sauce and saute well for a minute on medium-high flame.
  9. Add reserved beef stock and stir for a minute.
  10. Add lemon juice and 1/2-1 tsp pepper powder and mix well. Add honey and salt to taste and mix well.
  11. Add fried beef to this and mix well for 1-2 minutes.
  12. Add sesame seeds, red chilli flakes and chopped coriander leaves and mix well. Switch off the flame and serve hot…
