Ingredients:
10 sardines/ mathi
6 shallots
2 big garlic cloves
1/2 inch piece ginger
1 1/2 tsp pepper powder
1 tsp chilli powder
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1 sprig curry leaves
salt to taste
oil for shallow frying
Preparation:
- Cut and clean sardines. Make slits on both sides of the fish.
- Grind shallots, garlic, ginger, pepper powder, chilli powder, turmeric powder, curry leaves and salt together adding little water.
- Then marinate the sardines with this prepared paste and keep it aside for 30 minutes.
