Ingredients:
1 1/2 kg chicken
3 big onions, thinly sliced
1 1/2 tbsp ginger paste
1 1/2 tbsp garlic paste
2 green chillies, slit
2 sprig curry leaves
2 tomatoes, chopped
2 medium potatoes, peeled and cut into cubes
1 1/2-2 tbsp kashmiri chilli powder
1 heaped tbsp coriander powder
3/4 tsp turmeric powder
3/4 tsp garam masala
salt to taste
2-3 tbsp coconut oil
Preparation:
- Clean and cut the chicken into pieces. Keep it aside.
- Heat oil in a thick bottomed pan and add sliced onion, ginger paste, garlic paste, green chillies and curry leaves and saute well at medium-high flame adding little salt till golden brown.
- Reduce the flame and add turmeric powder, coriander powder, kashmiri chilli powder and chopped tomatoes and mix well.
- Add garam masala to this and mix well.
- Then add cleaned chicken pieces and mix well for 2 minutes.
- Add cubed potatoes to this and mix well for a minute.
- Add salt and 2 cups of water, mix well and cook it covered at medium flame till chicken is cooked.
- Add curry leaves and switch off the flame…Serve hot with pathiri, ghee rice etc…
