Coconut Milk Salad / Thengapal Sarlas


1 medium red onion, thinly sliced
1 small tomato, finely chopped
2 green chillies, finely chopped
2 curry leaves, chopped
1 tsp vinegar
salt to taste
1/2 cup thick coconut milk, or as required


  1. In a bowl, add thinly sliced onion and little salt and squeeze well with hand.
  2. Squeeze out the onion water and transfer to another bowl and add chopped green chillies, tomato, curry leaves and little salt and mix well.
  3. Add vinegar to this and mix well.
  4. Then add coconut milk and mix well. Serve as a side dish with rice, porotta etc…
