Uthappam / Mixed Vegetable Uthappam


2 cups thick dosa batter
3/4 cup onion, finely chopped ( or as required)
1 small tomato, chopped
1 green chilli, finely chopped
1/2 cup grated carrot
2-3 tbsp coriander leaves, chopped
salt to taste
oil / ghee, as required


  1. In a bowl, add grated carrot, chopped onion, tomato, green chillies, coriander leaves and mix well adding little salt. Keep it aside.
  2. Heat a pan / tawa at medium flame and grease little oil.
  3. Pour a ladleful of batter and spread lightly to make a thick dosa.
  4. When holes starts to appear , spread the vegetable mix over it and gently press it with spatula.
  5. Drizzle a tsp of oil / ghee on top and around the uthappam. Cover and cook for 1-2 minutes over medium-low flame.
  6. Flip over to the other side, gently press it and cook for 1-2 minutes.
  7. Remove from the pan and serve hot with chutney or sambar…
