Ingredients:
1 raw plantain, cut into small pieces
1 1/2 cup green gram/ cherupayar
1/2 cup grated coconut
2 tsp chilli powder
1 tsp turmeric powder
3 shallots,sliced
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp mustard seeds
2 sprigs curry leaves
2-3 dry red chillies
salt
oil
Preparation:
- Grind grated coconut, cumin seeds, 1 tsp chilli powder, 1/2 tsp turmeric powder and 1 shallot to a smooth paste and keep it aside.
- Pressure cook green gram and plantain with 1 tsp chilli powder, 1/2 tsp
turmeric powder and salt adding enough water for 1 whistle. Then lower
the heat and cook for 5 minutes. - Add the ground paste to the cooked green gram and mix well. Add more water if needed and check the salt. Cook for few minutes and remove from flame.
- Heat little oil in another pan, splutter mustard seeds. Add 2 sliced shallots, curry leaves and dry red chillies and add this to the curry…Serve hot with rice..
