Banana Chocolate Chip Cake

          I am back 🙂    As my sister and her family was here with us in New Zealand for  holiday, I was not able to update my blog.  I am happy that my blog turned one, on 11th of April.  Thank you all for your support and valuable comments…..
    Today I would like to share a cake recipe- Banana Chocolate Chip Cake…….


2 cups plain flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 cup sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup unsalted butter
2 large eggs
3 medium ripe bananas, mashed
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup yoghurt
1/2 cup chocolate chips


  1. Preheat the oven to 180 degree celsius. Grease and flour the baking pan and keep it aside.
  2. Sift the plain flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt together in a bowl and keep it aside.
  3. In another bowl, beat the butter using an electric mixer till creamy. Add the sugar and beat well. Then add eggs and vanilla essence to the creamed mixture and beat well.
  4. In another bowl, mix well the mashed bananas and yoghurt.
  5. Add the dry ingredients (step 2) and banana mixture (step 4) alternatively into the creamed mixture (step 3) and stir until blended.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  7. Pour batter into the prepared baking pan and bake for 35-45 minutes or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  8. Cool the cake in a wire rack, then cut into slices and serve……..
